Mindfulness & Art Therapy Experience: “An Hour for Yourself – Pause, Feel, Create”
What might happen if you stopped rushing, solving problems, and simply spent one hour being present with yourself? This experiential session brings together mindfulness and art therapy, offering a gentle space to slow down, reconnect, and explore your inner world. Through simple mindfulness practices, creative exercises, and guided reflection, participants will explore their emotions, inner state, and the experiences that often go unnoticed in the pace of everyday life.
No artistic skills or previous experience are required. The focus is not on creating a perfect artwork, but on the process itself—pausing, listening to yourself, and using creativity as a pathway to greater self-awareness. The session is based on mindfulness principles and incorporates elements of the Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy (MBAT) approach, supporting emotional resilience, self-understanding, and inner calm.
The workshop will be led by Agnė Sakevičiūtė, a member of the Lithuanian Art Therapy Association (LDTA), certified mindfulness teacher, Gestalt psychotherapy practitioner, educator, and lecturer at the MO Museum. Her work combines mindfulness, psychology, and creative methods to help people better understand themselves, strengthen emotional resilience, and cultivate greater well-being in everyday life.
Co-facilitating the session is Remigija Gilė, an art therapist, Chair of the Lithuanian Art Therapy Association (LDTA), art therapist at the Republican Vilnius University Hospital, and co-founder of the Art Therapy Space studio. With extensive experience in healthcare, education, social services, culture, and the arts, she works with adults, adolescents, and children through individual and group therapy. Her practice incorporates the neuroscience-based Expressive Therapies Continuum (ETC) model, using creative expression to deepen understanding of thoughts, emotions, and behaviour.
The session will take place on October 17 (Saturday) at the LITEXPO Conference Centre. We warmly invite you to join us!
