Photographer Saulius Jokužys at the EROS 2025 Festival
Stand No. 4.B09
“Let us always and everywhere seek beauty and goodness… SIN will find us on its own.”
With this motto, photographer Saulius Jokužys — Honorary Member of the Lithuanian Photographers’ Association, printer, publisher, patron, and promoter of the Klaipėda region’s culture — presents his work.
Jokužys began photographing in the 1970s (around 1970–1975), boldly exploring themes that were considered taboo at the time — nude photography. Even then, his art revealed a sensitivity to light, a refined sense of aesthetics, and harmony of form.
At the exhibition, visitors will be able to purchase posters, postcards, and calendars from different periods featuring the artist’s photographs.
S. Jokužys’ creative range spans from the Lithuanian nude art tradition — where the female body merges harmoniously with nature — to daring, aesthetically abstract interpretations. In his works, the female form transforms into a play of shapes, light, and lines — a kind of visual poetry revealing the fragility and mystery of beauty.
Throughout his career, the photographer has held more than 20 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous international events.
In 2010, he was awarded the Grand Prix at the Prague International Photo Camp for his photograph “Sleeping Woman.”
His works are held by collectors in Lithuania, the USA, Sweden, Germany, and the Czech Republic, and as early as 1994, the Gothenburg Museum of Art (Sweden) added Jokužys’ photographs to its collection.
