The first Automotive Forum at LITEXPO!

The Baltic Automotive Components Cluster (BACC), which operates in Lithuania, together with Invest Lithuania, is organising the first international Automotive Industry Forum ’24’ for its sector, which will take place in Vilnius on 16 May.

The capital of Lithuania will be the hub for global automotive professionals and experts to share their experience and insights. They include representatives from car manufacturer Ford, supercar maker Koenigsegg, German automotive parts suppliers Continental and Forvia / Hella, the world’s largest bicycle manufacturer Pon.Bike, the Lithuanian hi-tech group Teltonika, and the national automotive associations of Germany, the United Kingdom and Sweden.

The participants will be welcomed by the Minister of Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė and the Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis.

Giedrius Valuckas, Chairman of the Board of BACC, says that the automotive industry and service providers operating in Lithuania, together with scientific institutions, are a reliable and integral part of global business and innovation.

“Our cluster is determined to be at the forefront of industry change, contributing to the development of new solutions that meet the needs of today and tomorrow. The first event of its kind in Lithuania is designed to attract the attention of global companies to our country. Traditionally, we would be happy to participate in similar events abroad, but now we are opening the opportunity for the international community to meet in Lithuania, underlining our desire to be a hub for innovation and business collaboration,” says the Chairman of the Board.

According to Mr. Valuckas, the Forum opens up opportunities for business meetings and networking across the mobility sector, from start-ups and technology developers to large multinational corporations. It is a place where you can not only meet key players in the industry, but also make important contacts that can open up new opportunities for collaboration, joint ventures or new business models.

“The Automotive Forum ’24’ will focus on autonomous driving technologies, electric vehicles, sustainable and efficient transport, digitalisation of the industry and other issues. Companies such as Astra, Telesoftas, Elinta Motors, Histeel, Elameta and CIE LT Forge and the others.

“The car today is not only a means of transport, but also a sophisticated device that integrates advanced information technologies and electronic solutions, which allows us to talk about a completely new concept of the vehicle. We are therefore faced with challenges such as the rapid obsolescence of technology, the need for cyber security, the need for new skills in the workforce and the integration of sustainable production processes. At the same time, this opens up enormous opportunities for cluster members, whether they are developers of IT solutions, suppliers of electronic components, or developers of new materials and manufacturing technologies,” stresses the BACC Chairman.

Founded in 2013 and celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, the Baltic Automotive Components Cluster (BACC) consists of more than 20 automotive parts and components manufacturers, service providers and research institutions. Lithuanian automotive companies employ around 15,000 people and have an annual turnover of more than EUR 1 billion. The BACC brings together German, Swedish and Lithuanian capital companies that have been producing auto parts and components for the automotive, agricultural and construction equipment industries for more than 15 years.

“The Automotive Industry Forum’24 will take place on 16 May at the Litexpo Exhibition and Congress Centre during the Balttechnika exhibition.
